The RECLAIM THE NIGHT Collective are calling for contributions from
women of all ages and experiences to include in a magazine we’re
creating to celebrate this year’s RECLAIM THE NIGHT event in
Newcastle.
If you’re a woman aged between 10 and 100, then we want your work!
Your thoughts, your words, your feelings, your celebrations and your
reflections on being a woman. Submissions dealing with the issue of
violence against women are particularly welcome. Submissions can be
anonymous if requested.
Deadline for submissions is Friday October 17 2008

RECLAIM THE NIGHT is an annual event across the globe. The night aims
to empower women by encouraging them to take a stand and speak out
against sexual assault and violence, and to challenge the notion that
women shouldn’t be out at night. The event also encourages social and
political awareness around the issues of violence against women and
children. Women first began taking to the streets for RECLAIM THE
NIGHT in Australia in 1978 and have continued to do so every year in
cities and towns across the country.
